In My Skin is a project about breast cancer in Women, wandering through feelings and emotions.

Breast cancer is primarily a destructive experience. It's not just a abnormal cell growth or a tumor mass, it's a story with a face and a name, it's a bubbling of feelings: fury, anger, indignation, sadness, tiredness, ... The person have to resist to the disease and the treatment and the subtractive impacts of both, decreasing and overcoming cancer by resistance.

Most projects on this topic narrow the focus around physical illness itself, from asymmetrical breasts to the scars of radical mastectomies, leaving aside the diversity of feelings. The aim of this work was to pull the cancer beyond the skin's limits! Putting these feelings into images, photography becomes a form of knowledge and transformative action, helping to understand and redo individual experiences, extended after to the community.
